WMS Hardware Specifications

Users of NetScore WMS Mobile have a variety of mobile devices they can choose for their warehouse. All devices will connect to the system via a standard WIFI connection that provides access to the Internet. Devices running either the Android or IOS operating system can be utilized. Here are some factors to consider when choosing the right handheld device to use in your warehouse:

  • Ruggedness: Warehouses are often harsh environments, so your handheld device needs to be able to withstand drops, spills, and other bumps. Look for a device with an IP rating of at least IP54, which means it is dust-tight and protected against water splashes.
  • Battery life: You do not want your handheld device to die in the middle of a picking or packing task. Choose a device with a long battery life, or one that is easily recharged.
  • Scanning capabilities: The type of scanning you need will depend on the products you handle. If you need to scan barcodes from a distance, you will need a device with a laser scanner. If you need to scan 2D barcodes, you will need a device with an image scanner.
  • Display: The display on your handheld device should be large enough to see clearly, even in bright sunlight. It should also be easy to read, even if you are wearing gloves.
  • Software: The handheld device you choose should be compatible with the warehouse management software you are using. If you have a device that you would like us to review as to whether it is compatible, please forward the specifications for it to our team.
